Celebrating excellence in the power systems industry: The 2024 AMPS Awards

The AMPS Awards for Excellence will return this year, and entries are now invited to showcase the outstanding achievements within the power systems industry. These awards represent the highest standards of dedication, innovation, and expertise that our members bring to the sector.

Reflecting on last year’s success

David Oates, AMPS Director General, reflected on the success of last year’s event: “Last year’s AMPS Awards were a resounding success, with a record number of entries showcasing the exceptional work being done across our industry. Building on that momentum, we’ve updated the Apprentice of the Year category to the Apprenticeship Programme of the Year, recognising organisations committed to developing the next generation of talent. I encourage all members to participate—whether by entering themselves or nominating others. There’s an opportunity for every achievement to be recognised.”

Why enter the AMPS Awards?

Entering the AMPS Awards is a unique opportunity to elevate your organisation’s profile within the industry. It’s a chance to gain recognition for the hard work and innovation that drive the UK’s power generation sector. Winning an AMPS award marks you as a leader among your peers and helps strengthen your position in this competitive industry.

Spotlight on apprenticeship excellence

This year, we’ve refined the “Apprenticeship Programme of the Year Award” to better honour organisations committed to developing the next generation of talent. This award will be presented to a company that prioritises the growth and progression of apprentices, showcasing a robust and effective training programme that equips young professionals with the skills needed to thrive in our industry.

Judging and entry details

A panel of independent industry experts will judge the awards, ensuring that all entries are evaluated fairly and impartially. The submission deadline is Friday 27th September, so be sure to submit your entry in time.
