AMPS Awards – Meet the judges

All entries for the AMPS Awards for Excellence 2026 are evaluated against our awards criteria by a panel of independent, expert judges.

Luis Bassett, Decarbonisation & Sustainability Manager at CPA

Luis Bassett leads decarbonisation and sustainability activity at the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA), working with CPA members and policymakers on fuels, technology adoption and emissions reduction.

Dale Camsell, Senior Technical Consultant at CEA

Dale is a regulatory compliance specialist in the non-road mobile machinery sector and holds the role of Senior Technical Consultant to the UK Construction Equipment Association (CEA). He is a major contributor to the work of trade associations and chairs CECE PT Electrification. His previous key appointments include Chair of CECE’s Technical Commission and Chair of CEA’s Technical Committee.

Bernard Gospel, Technical Secretary at AMPS 

Bernard is Technical Secretary at AMPS, leading work on technical standards, guidance and regulatory engagement. He works closely with AMPS member companies, committees and policymakers to ensure industry experience informs compliance, performance and best practice across the power generation sector.

Steven Mulholland, Chief Executive at CPA

Steven is a highly respected figure within the construction and plant-hire industries, with a proven track record of driving industry collaboration, championing standards, and supporting workforce development. As Chief Executive of the CPA, he has been at the forefront of initiatives that strengthen skills, safety, and best practice across the sector.

Alex Woodrow, Managing Director at Knibb, Gormezano and Partners

Alex leads Knibb, Gormezano and Partners, delivering global commercial powertrain intelligence across the automotive and off-road sectors. He works closely with manufacturers, suppliers and investors to help them understand market trends, emissions regulations and new technologies. Alex specialises in helping businesses plan for the energy transition, focusing on electrification, sustainable fuels and decarbonisation.
